What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive procedure that treats cellulite, unwanted fat, wrinkles and sagging skin. Developed in France, this treatment uses micro-injections that deliver a series of enzymes, vitamins and minerals, and sometimes antibiotics and into the mesoderm, or the middle layer of the skin. The idea behind mesotherapy is that through micro-injections, it can treat underlying issues like poor circulation and inflammation that cause skin damage.
By injecting vitamins under your skin, the production of elastin and collagen is stimulated and accelerating the creation of younger and healthier skin cells much faster. The result is younger-looking and more plump skin. However, the treatment would have to be done multiple times (from 4 to 6 treatments) to achieve optimal results. Follow up visits would have to be done every few months to ensure that the results are prolonged.
Cellulite can be unsightly, making your skin look old, saggy and wrinkly. Mesotherapy treats cellulite by re-attaching the connective tissues inside your limbs and shrinking the adipose (or fat) tissues. It also increases the circulation of blood inside your limbs to provide a smoother texture and appearance of your skin.
As with any injectable treatment, there will be some side effects. These include some bruising or swelling on the areas of injection, the formation of small bumps, and some numbness. These are all normal and will go away as the injected area heals. Local anesthesia is administered before the injections are carried out, so you can expect minimal pain during this treatment.
