Prevent Whiteheads and Blackheads with These Three Products

No one likes having whiteheads and blackheads. Blackheads and whiteheads form when sebaceous plugs, or comedones accumulate on your pores. Sebacious plugs are a combination of dead skin cells and dirt that pile up and clog up your skin, resulting in a plug that can become infected when bacteria enters it. These can be prevented by using a combination of skin care products designed to combat acne.
Here are three products to help you prevent getting blackheads and whiteheads:
Cleansers – Instead of using soap, dermatologists recommend washing your face with a cleanser. Soaps can be harsh on your skin and can contribute to dryness. Cleansers on the other hand, are formulated with your facial skin in mind. They are milder but are much more effective than the use of traditional soap. Wash your face throroughly during the morning and before you turn in for the night.
Exfoliators – Exfoliators are used to scrub away the old and dirty outer layers of your facial skin, exposing the younger and healthier layers underneath. When you use an exfoliating cream, the dirt, bacteria and other substances that clog up your pores get scrubbed and washed away as well. Dermatologists recommend exfoliating around two to three times a week with a cream, or just once a week with an exfoliating tool.
Moisturizers – After you exfoliate your skin, it’s important to moisturize it as well. The dryer your skin gets, the more natural oil it produces, leading to a higher tendency of clogged pores from overproduction of sebum. Moisturizers that have SPF protection also shield you from harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun. These can cause various types of skin cancer, like the deadly melanoma.
